• Short beats clever. The custom line sits in a fixed width. "SCOTTSBLUFF, NE" reads beautifully. A full sentence gets squeezed.
• It does not have to be a town. A family name, a graduating class, a road number, a lake, a nickname only six people use — all of it fits the same slot.
• Punctuation is fine. Commas, ampersands, periods, apostrophes. It is set as type, not as a stencil.
